A Practical Introduction to SEO

Explore the essentials of SEO and Conversion tactics to drive leads, convert customers and increase sales. Targeted at startups who need to generate more traffic to their site, as well as those that are not converting traffic into leads or sales, attendees will learn how to create a cohesive online presence and social media strategy.
We will cover the basics of how Google works before creating a checklist of SEO essentials to get Google to love your site. Students will also look at ways to understand content, keywords and the importance of both in SEO; how to make your website appear relevant to Google; optimal SEO friendly site structures; practical tips on how to push your site up the Search Engine Results; and an insight into converting website traffic into leads and sales.
Pre-Requisites: No previous knowledge of SEO is necessary. Students should come along with an idea of their target market to work on during the class.
Preparation: Students need to bring their laptops. If you have a website to work on, ensure you have Google Analystics or a similar analytics programme installed.
Instructor:
- May is a Web Strategist and an SEO expert. She has been actively applying cutting edge SEO techniques on her own and clients' sites since 2006. The SEO techniques used have been instrumental in continuously increasing traffic to those website and consequently sales, even after the turmoil of Google algorithm changes this year. She also consults with small businesses on Internet Marketing Strategies, Social Media and Reputation Management practices that maximise sales and positive media presence.
